Prisoners with financial equity should pay for their own incarceration
We ask that the Govt considers charging Prisoners, who have financial equity, to pay for the expenses of their incarceration. This should not only help to finance the building of new Prisons but could also act as a deterrent and could help prevent the necessity of early release of offenders.

Background
We believe tax payers should not be expected to pay for the incarceration of offenders who have the financial equity to pay it themselves. This money could then go towards the building of new prisons negating the need to release offenders early; which we feel is not only disrespectful to the victims but could also puts the public at risk. If they own property it should be sold to pay for their care just it applies to elderly people who go into Nursing / Residential care. There should be no exception on this ruling.
