We urge the UK Government to create a Democratic Exit Process for each UK Nation
We call on the Government to legislate a peaceful, democratic withdrawal process for each UK nation—similar to the EU Article 50. Without a codified exit route the Union risks becoming involuntary—undermining democracy, weakening constitutional trust and breaching the UK’s international obligations.

Background
Only Northern Ireland has a codified, peaceful route to leave the UK. Scotland, Wales, and England do not. This creates a democratic imbalance and undermines the idea of a voluntary union. A clear, lawful and equal withdrawal mechanism is essential to protect democratic consent and constitutional stability. Without it, the UK risks becoming a union held together by force, and not by consent. This petition does not seek independence but calls for a fair process available to all nations of the UK.
