Make SuDS mandatory for all new developments
We believe Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) can help improve river water quality by reducing the amount of road surface water run off into the sewerage system, reducing flooding, and helping to recharge ground water.

Background
We think making SuDs mandatory for new developments, and the government implementing Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 would provide a framework for the widespread adoption of SuDS and give local authorities the role of sustainable drainage approval body (SAB), with responsibility for checking compliance and approving their use.
