Make local councils responsible to pay for damage caused by pot holes on roads.
1000s of cars have been damaged by potholes.on roads, causing drivers to have to pay out for this damage even though this damage is though no fault of their own, we would like local councils to be made responsible for the cost of this damage.

Local councils can be held responsible for paying for damage caused by potholes on roads under their jurisdiction if they failed to maintain the roads properly and the pothole caused the damage. You may find this useful: https://www.gov.uk/claim-for-damage-to-your-vehicle

Background
Publishing the new data to coincide with National Pothole Day (Wednesday, January 15), the RAC says that breakdowns jumped by almost a fifth (17%) in the final three months of 2024, compared to the previous quarter.
RAC patrols assisted 4,709 drivers from October to December for damaged shock absorbers, broken suspension springs or distorted wheels, with callouts most likely to be caused by wear and tear from defective road surfaces. This only one of the many breakdown services.
