Background
This group could face unique challenges – many may have left lifelong homes and careers in Hong Kong, often with limited English skills. This policy could enable elderly individuals to stay with family, support childcare, and allow younger members to work and contribute to the UK’s economy. We believe accepting ESOL attendance as an alternative recognizes the dedication of elderly migrants willing to learn English, and could foster a more compassionate, inclusive immigration system.
