Launch a UK bottle deposit scheme to reward recycling and keep Britain clean
We urge the UK Government to fast-track a Germany-style bottle deposit scheme by 2026: eg £0.10–£0.20 deposits on plastic, cans, and glass, refunded at 20,000+ new return points. Reward recycling, cut 6.5B bottles in litter and keep Britain clean.

Background
UK’s single-use bottles litter streets, beaches, harming wildlife and costing millions in cleanup. Germany’s Pfand system, with £0.10–£0.20 deposits and 98% return rate, cuts waste and rewards recycling. We urge a UK scheme by 2026 with 20,000+ return points to incentivize sustainable habits, reduce landfill, save public funds, and protect our environment.
