Background
Raising a frozen tax threshold aims at addressing financial pressures. The freezing has created a tax burden for many - e.g dragged into filling in a self assessment for first time because of small tax payments due to the freeze. A 15,000 threshold would protect many from this tax burden. Over Eighties face higher expenses related to health, care, and heating. An increased, tax-free threshold allows them to keep more of their income to cover these essentials. Not seeing it "vanish" to taxes.”
