Include information about congenital CMV in all NHS antenatal booking packs
We want the Government to ensure that every pregnant woman in the UK receives information about congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) in their antenatal booking pack. This should include simple prevention advice and clear guidance on risks and symptoms.

This is not something which the UK Government or Parliament is directly responsible for, but something which is done by individual NHS trusts. You could start a new petition, for example calling for there to be funding for a national information campaign about this targeted at expectant mothers.

Background
Congenital CMV is the most common infectious cause of birth defects and disabilities in the UK, but most parents have never heard of it. Simple hygiene measures can cut risk, yet families often only learn about CMV after diagnosis. Including CMV information in booking packs could prevent avoidable harm.
