Hold a review into the effects of parental alienation on families
We are calling on the UK Government to launch a review into parental alienation, examining its scale, how courts and services respond, and the impact on children. The review must deliver clear reforms to protect parent-child relationships and ensure fair, evidence-based decisions.

Background
The Government currently refers to parental alienation as a “concept”, but for many families it is a reality with serious consequences. Across the UK, some parents are being cut off from their children without justification, leading to emotional distress. In some tragic cases, this has contributed to parents taking their own lives. This is why a review is needed, to examine the evidence, understand the scale of harm, and ensure the system responds with accountability and reform.
