Background
Internationally important for biodiversity. The area includes a RAMSAR site, SSSI, Special Protection Area (SPA), Special Area of Conservation (SAC), and National Nature Reserve (NNR). Despite this they are going to build on the site:-
Massive infrastructure: A converter station approx. 100 ft tall over 22 acres.
Environmental degradation: Wildlife loss, increased pollution, run-off into the River Stour etc
Cultural and social impact: Loss of historic archaeology, mental/physical health concern.
