Background
Many people with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD and other serious mental health conditions do not recover with current treatments. UK research at King’s College London and Imperial College is already studying psychedelic-assisted therapy. NHS-backed trials could test safety, benefits, risks and long-term outcomes in a legal, regulated healthcare setting, and help guide future UK mental health policy.
