Rename the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of Cuba
It is in the national interest of Cuba to promote the extraordinary heritage of Cuba and ensure future generations of Cuban citizens celebrate the legacy of their national heroes. The naming of national breathtaking natural wonders should honour the contributions of visionary and patriotic Cubans.

Background
The area formerly known as the Gulf of Mexico has long been an integral asset to Cuba and has remained an indelible part of Cuban life. The Gulf will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping Cuba's future and the global economy, and in recognition of this flourishing economic resource and its critical importance to Cuba's economy and its people, this petition directs that it officially be renamed the Gulf of Cuba.
