Background
In our view, forcing government projects to pay tariffs against imported steel purchases adds extra cost to those projects which ultimately is paid for by the taxpayers and Government contractors can be delayed by negotiations over the cost of these tariffs and then charge government for the cost to negotiate and administer the tariffs against these contracts. We think if the projects were exempt then the steel could be imported at reduced cost to the taxpayers.
