End routine PIP reassessments for people with lifelong & progressive conditions
We want the Government to end routine Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reassessments for people with lifelong, progressive or irreversible conditions where there is no realistic prospect of significant improvement. Most chronic illness' worsen over time / remain unchanged from initial assessment.

Background
People with lifelong and progressive conditions are often required to undergo repeated reassessments despite medical evidence showing their condition is unlikely to improve. We believe these reassessments cause unnecessary stress, worsen health, consume NHS and DWP resources, and provide little benefit. We believe longer-term or ongoing awards should be the default for claimants with permanent conditions.
