Create an early state pension access scheme for 28 to 40-year-olds
Create a scheme which allows 28 to 40-year-olds access to their pension pots, using a tax-free lump sum of around £12,500 of pension in exchange for delaying receipt of their state pension by a year. This could help address inequality, cost of living pressures and getting onto the property ladder.

Background
We feel young people are facing major hurdles when it comes to buying a home as house prices have grown much faster than wages. High rent costs stop many young people from saving money for a deposit, and stricter lending rules and higher mortgage rates can make monthly loan payments hard to afford.
Property costs are often many times higher than an entry-level yearly salary, and high monthly rent payments can leave little room to save for a large cash deposit. Banks require higher incomes and larger deposit percentages to approve big mortgages.
