Create stricter rules where the defence of automatism is used, How many cases are not being brought to trial because prosecutors have lost confidence that they can challenge evidence? How aware are the police, while they are investigating a case, about people invoking automatism?

We are not clear about whether you want the rules on when you can use an automatism defence tightened, and if so how you'd like the rules to change, or if you want some other way of handling cases when an automatism defence succeeds. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a petition requesting a review of the legal rules around the use of the defence of automatism and the consequences for victims, if that is something you would like to see.
