Preserve British protection of the Chagos islands marine reserve

To ensure the marine park is protected from external economic exploitation to accepted standards. Exclusion of the industrial fisheries of the Far East with their vast nets, & miles of long lines, is critical. To maintain this 'marine ecological masterpiece' should -must- be above politics.

Background
As a Geologist & Oceanographer, I recognise the unique tectonic formations of these islands. Today its physical characteristics create a stabilizing base for the entire Indian Ocean biodiversity, and a unique scientific base that must be preserved. The danger of handing over control to Mauritius- 1200 miles away and no historical ties, but strong Chinese economic ties- is to endanger the globes largest, finest and most unique marine reserve. The 250 Sq.M marine park (7 atolls, 70 small islands, with the worlds largest coral atoll, 1600' trench, & 300+ seamounts) are very special. https://chagos-trust.org/news/chagos-marine-reserve-british-indian-ocean-territory-second-anniversary-pro
