Ban the Use of E171 (Titanium Dioxide) in Food Products in the UK
We call on the UK Government to ban E171 (titanium dioxide) as a food additive. Recent scientific assessments have raised concerns about the potential for titanium dioxide particles to cause DNA damage and accumulate in the body over time.

Background
These risks are especially troubling because E171 provides no nutritional value and is used only for colouring and whitening foods such as sweets, chewing gum, and sauces.
Given the uncertainty surrounding its long-term health effects, we urge the Government to take a precautionary approach and remove this additive from all food products sold in the UK.
