Require formal recording and government monitoring of assaults on teachers

Background
I am concerned that assaults on teachers may be more common than recorded. I believe there should be clear national guidance on what constitutes assault and a formal system for schools to record and report incidents centrally so the Government can monitor the scale and improve staff safety.
