Background
Police vehicles driven by young officers with limited experience and could cause harm to members of the public and damage to police vehicles that are subsequently replaced by tax payers money.
Currently a police officer can attend an emergency response driving course as long as they have a valid driving licence. This means in theory a driver could be expected to advanced standards with little driving experience. We think this is unfair to the officer.
