It is unclear whether such a register would apply to those charged or convicted of sex offences, and whether you wish for the details of individual cases to be publicly available. You could re-submit a petition which clarifies these points. You can read more about how criminal data are recorded and processed here: https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/criminal-records

Background
There is currently no register recording the numbers of police officers that have been found guilty of sexual offences on members of the public. This information is in the public interest.
Without this data being monitored it provides no way for the Police, the Home Office or the public to see the scale of the problem and work towards addressing the severity of the issue.
The police should be held to a high standard and this would help make that more fair and possible.
