The Ministery of Defence continues to play a vital role in the response to the covid-19 outbreaks. It is currently supporting 34 MACA tasks, including providing environmental health technicians to support the Liverpool city region and planning teams to support the Nottingham City Council and the Lancashire local resilience forum.

Defence has already deployed military personnel to the vaccine taskforce, with personnel supporting central organisation within the task and exploring how the Department could bring logistics support to the national roll-out of a future vaccine.
