HS2 Equality impact assessment update: Camden Town and Washwood Heath to Curzon Street

HS2 Ltd is seeking views on this updated Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) of the potential equality effects of our new proposals for the London to West Midlands route between Camden Town (community forum area 2) and Washwood Heath to Curzon Street (community forum area 26).

This is a public consultation and responses are welcome from any person or organisation who wishes to take part. HS2 Ltd will read and analyse all of the responses that are submitted, and a summary report of responses will be provided to Parliament to inform its consideration of the Phase One hybrid Bill.

This report will also be published as a public record of the issues that people chose to raise in response to this consultation.

Easy read guide to the EqIA

HS2 Ltd is aware that some people require or prefer to access information about our project in different formats or languages. That is why we have produced an Easy Read document about the current Equality Impact Assessment consultation.

‘Easy Read’ is a way of translating complex information into a format- combining words and pictures- that will be accessible to people with learning difficulties or to people who simply prefer to receive information in that format. The five documents all provide a summary of the EqIA and the consultation in general. Each document also looks more closely at the assessment in one particular section of the route. These are: London Corridor, Country South, Country North, West Midlands and – for the approach to Birmingham – Washwood Heath to Curzon Street

Information provided in response to this consultation, including personal information, may be subject to publication or disclosure in accordance with the access to information regimes (these are primarily the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004).

If you want information that you provide to be treated as confidential, please be aware that, under the FOIA, there is a statutory Code of Practice with which public authorities must comply and which deals, amongst other things, with obligations of confidence.

In view of this it would be helpful if you could explain to us why you regard the information you have provided as confidential. If we receive a request for disclosure of the information we will take full account of your explanation, but we cannot give an assurance that confidentiality can be maintained in all circumstances.
