Pension Protection Fund: pension compensation sharing on divorce
This consultation sought views on pension compensation provided by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) when a marriage or civil partnership ends.
Last fetched 03 May 2026 · gov.uk
Detail
This consultation sought views on 2 sets of draft regulations.
The Pensions Act 2008 and the draft regulations will enable pension compensation provided by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) to be shared when a person seeks a divorce, a dissolution of their civil partnership or an annulment of their marriage or civil partnership.
This will mean that the former spouse or civil partner of person who is a member of the PPF will be able to receive a share of that person’s pension compensation.
