Partnership arrangements between NHS bodies and local authorities

The proposed amendments to the NHS Bodies and Local Authorities Partnership Arrangements Regulations 2000 aim to provide more flexibility around pooled budgets. This would support more joined-up planning and commissioning.

The proposed change will make it possible for pooled budgets to include funding for primary medical care. This will encourage greater integration across community health, social care and primary care.

The proposal will not impose any requirements on areas or NHS England to make use of these additional flexibilities.
