Social Fund Budgeting Loans: improving the process
This consultation seeks views on a proposal to change how people get a decision when they apply for a Social Fund Budgeting Loan.

If the proposal is accepted, we would phone applicants as soon as we’ve made a decision. They would be able to:
- accept the loan offer during the call – and receive confirmation by letter, or
- defer their decision until they receive a formal written offer by post
This change could reduce the time an applicant waits for payment by up to 10 days.
