Smart Metering Implementation Programme: the process to finalise the Great Britain Companion Specification

This document sets out the manner in which the government intends to complete the development of the 2.4 GHz Great Britain Companion Specification (GBCS) to support the supplier-led Smart Meter roll-out by 2020.

The GBCS will describe the detailed requirements for communications between Devices in consumers’ premises, and between Devices and the Data and Communications Company (DCC).
