Updating UK seafarer training standards

Changes described by the ‘Manila amendments’ need to be made to UK law to ensure that UK trained seafarers receive the proper level of training needed to remain compliant with the international ‘standards of training, certification and watchkeeping’ (STCW) convention, so they can continue to work in international waters after 1 January 2017
