Non-domestic RHI early tariff Review

Non-domestic RHI early tariff Review

Last fetched 03 May 2026 · gov.uk
Detail

In response to industry and market feedback, DECC has looked at the evidence on cost data and heat usage assumptions used to set the levels of tariffs when the scheme was launched, alongside the level of uptake so far under the scheme. Government is consulting on proposals to make changes to the tariffs for a number of technologies currently supported in the scheme and full details can be found in the consultation documents below.

Decisions on tariff levels are subject to Parliamentary approval and State Aid requirements, affordability and any necessary adjustments being made to the budget management mechanism. We expect any new tariffs would come into force in Spring 2014. If tariffs increase as a result of this review, it remains DECC’s intention that installations whose date of accreditation is on or after 21 January 2013 will also benefit from that increase.

We have also set out in the tariff review consultation indicative updates to the tariffs proposed for air-water heat pumps and biomass direct air heating in the September 2012 consultation, given the links between support levels for these technologies and the tariff levels now under review. Decisions on their inclusion in the scheme will be announced in the summer in the Government’s response to the September 2012 consultation.

A table setting out the tariffs and technologies affected by the 2013 Tariff Review is available below.
