This consultation invites views on new requirements for trade unions to supply annual assurance that their membership records are accurate and up to date.
The consultation:
- details the requirements for unions to provide a membership audit certificate (MAC) and the timetable for its production
- sets out the requirement for unions with more than 10,000 members to appoint an independent assurer
- consults on the content of a regulatory order for assurers
- seeks comments on guidance for unions, employers and assurers
