The current regulations apply to ‘all activities of workers on United Kingdom ships’. The proposed Merchant Shipping (Maritime Labour Convention) (Health and Safety) Regulations would amend those regulations so that the requirements of Maritime Labour Convention 2006 Regulation 4.3 are fully implemented.
You are invited to comment on any elements of these proposed regulations which would not be appropriate where they apply to vessels on domestic voyages, with evidence of any unreasonable costs or burdens.
