Two new marine guidance notes to replace MGN 430

MGN 570 provides revised guidance on the conduct of emergency drills, scenarios to practice and what will be expected during an MCA survey or inspection.

MGN 571 provides guidance on how to prevent man overboard incidents through the assessment of the risks involved and includes a risk review document on which risks and the measures taken to reduce them can be recorded.

The MGNs will replace MGN 430 – Fishing vessels: checks on crew certification and drills.
