Heathrow expansion: revised draft Airports National Policy Statement
Seeking views on the impact of changes to the draft Airport National Policy Statement made since the previous consultation.
The government believes that the need for additional capacity in the south-east of England is best met by a new north-west runway at Heathrow Airport.
The planning policy framework which the applicant for a north-west runway at Heathrow Airport would have to comply with in order to get development consent is set out in the draft Airports National Policy Statement.
A consultation on the draft Airports National Policy Statement ran between 2 February and 25 May 2017.
We are now consulting on the revised draft Airports National Policy Statement. The revised draft Airports National Policy Statement sets out the impact of changes arising from:
- updated noise analysis
- a new air quality plan
- government policy changes
- consideration to date of the responses to the first consultation
