Review of the number of requests made to NHS organisations for national data returns
Asks your views on plans to reduce the number of data returns requested by the Department of Health and its arms length bodies from the NHS.
The government wants your views on its proposals to cut up to 25% of all data returns commissioned by the Department of Health and its arms length bodies. This would lead to a reduction in burden on the NHS of approximately £10million.
Patient groups, research organisations, academic institutions and NHS trusts are now being asked for their views on proposals to streamline data collections across health and social care.
One part of the consultation (annex E) focuses on the impact of proposed changes on Official and National Statistics publications, for which we are inviting the views of statistics users.
A second phase of work will be carried out to examine how remaining data returns can be rationalised. The aim is for data to be collected and processed efficiently and for any burden on information providers to be kept to a minimum.
