Retained firefighters' pensions
Consultation on proposed changes to the Firefighters' Pension Scheme (England) Order 2006.
Detail
The government has committed to provide further remedy to people employed as retained firefighters between 7 April 2000 and 5 April 2006, by giving them the opportunity to purchase their pre-July 2000 service and have this included in their pension entitlement.
To do this, we’re consulting on amendments to:
-
the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (England) Order 2006
-
the Firemen’s Pension Scheme Order 1992
We’re seeking views on:
- the amendments
- whether they achieve the policy intention for all eligible people
