Single market: free movement of goods report: review of the balance of competences
Call for evidence on free movement of goods for the government’s review of the balance of competences between the UK and the European Union.
The government is carrying out a review of the balance of competences between the EU and the UK. This is an audit of what the EU does and how it affects the UK.
HMRC, in partnership with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Intellectual Property Office, is conducting a review of the free movement of goods within the EU’s internal market. The review will look at the EU customs union, trade between Member States, and all areas where EU action impacts on intellectual property.
This document sets out the scope of the review and poses a number of questions that we are seeking evidence for.
If you have evidence you would like to submit, or if you have any questions about the Internal Market: Free Movement of Goods review, please email us at: hmrc.balance-of-competences@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk.
For more information on the process of the review, please see the detailed guide Review of the balance of competences.
