We held 3 consultations on proposed revisions to, and the issue of, codes of practice under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, the National Security Act 2023 and the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019.
The consultations concerned:
- new codes of practice relating to video recording of interviews of people detained under the National Security Act 2023
- changes to the codes of practice for officers who will exercise powers under Schedule 3 to the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019
- changes to Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 codes A, B, C, D and H
- a new Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 code I relating to the detention, treatment and questioning of persons arrested under the National Security Act 2023
