Transforming the services of the Office of the Public Guardian: enabling digital by default
This consultation paper considers the next phase of the OPG transformation programme, as well as exploring some of the future changes that the OPG may seek to make within the next few years.

Part 1 considers those changes we wish to make by April 2014. This includes how we might improve the design of the paper forms for creating a LPA, fees for a new combined form, access to the OPG registers and changes to the supervision of court appointed deputies.

Part 2 considers the bigger picture and our proposals for future changes, in line with the Ministry of Justice’s “Transforming Justice” agenda and the Government’s commitment for more public services to be “Digital by Default”. This section sets out initial proposals for the delivery of a fully digital method of creating and registering LPAs (e-LPAs). This will require primary legislation in the future.
These proposals are designed to make sure that the OPG is able to deal effectively with future volumes across all areas of its business and deliver services that are more effective, less costly and more responsive for its users.
