We're seeking views on obligations for energy suppliers to improve smart meter operations and complete the domestic smart meter rollout by the end of 2030.

We’re consulting on proposals to set the policy framework for energy suppliers to deliver service improvements by ensuring smart meters operate as they should, and to continue installing smart meters after 31 December 2025, when the existing annual installation targets come to an end.
The consultation seeks views on proposed obligations to:
- improve smart meter operations
- complete the domestic rollout by the end of 2030
- submit annual deployment plans
