Consultation: public financial guidance
The government is seeking responses on how the public provision of free-to-client, impartial financial guidance should be structured to give consumers the information they need to make financial decisions.
This consultation will look at:
-
how much demand is there for the public provision of debt, pensions and general money guidance
-
how the provision of public financial guidance should be structured and funded
-
how the government can make the provision of public financial guidance more effective for consumers
This consultation is being run alongside the Financial Advice Market Review: Call for input, which will explore how the financial advice market could work better for consumers. The two reviews have a shared aspiration of improving the experience for consumers in accessing financial information, and will provide a complementary and comprehensive analysis of the advice landscape.
This consultation is open until 22 December and the government will consider responses and report back ahead of Budget 2016, alongside the Financial Advice Market Review.
