Improving proportionality and building safety outcomes in building control: emergency repairs under the higher-risk building regime

​​This consultation proposes changes to the emergency repairs route for higher-risk buildings.  

​We are seeking views on: 

• the public’s view about the current emergency repairs route 
• ​whether the definition of emergency repairs should be expanded to include more types of building work or if there should be a new route for critical works 
• what further guidance may be needed  
• the type of emergency works which may be suitable for self-certification through a Competent Person Scheme
