Reforming the notification requirements for registered sex offenders

The summary of consultation responses is now available.

Last year, the Home Secretary announced plans to consult on measures to extend and strengthen the notification requirements for registered sex offenders to ensure that the police are provided with the intelligence they need to manage registered sex offenders more effectively and robustly, and to prevent offenders from seeking to exploit gaps in existing legislation to cause harm both in the UK and overseas.

The consultation sought views on four key proposals to reform the notification requirements for registered sex offenders. A summary of responses to the consultation is now available.
