Consultation on draft SACN Carbohydrates and Health report

• additional meta-analyses (document 15).

SACN is pleased that the Carbohydrate Working Group has received a substantial number of responses to its Carbohydrates and Health report consultation and it welcomes the contributions made. SACN is carefully considering these comments and what the resulting amendments to its draft report may be. Due to the extensive and detailed nature of the comments, and to ensure a thorough and robust approach is maintained, this work will be presented at SACN’s next meeting in February.

Next steps

It is planned that at the meeting on 26 February 2015, the SACN main committee will discuss the consultation comments, the Working Group’s proposed responses to them, and an amended version of the report. The finalised Carbohydrates and Health report is then expected to be published in late Spring 2015, together with the full consultation comments and the committee’s responses to them.
