Academies funding: simplifying the administration

We would like to hear your views on proposals for converting non-recoupment academies to recoupment academies from the financial year ending 2016.

The consultation proposes:

• how recoupment for former non-recoupment academies would work
• how we would calculate additional dedicated schools grant funding for local authorities to take account of pupils in non-recoupment academies
• how to amend the funding of local authorities for free schools pupils

It is important to note that this proposal does not affect the calculation and payment by the Education Funding Agency of each academy’s budget. This is a completely separate process from recoupment of funding from the academy’s local authority.
