Waste prevention programme for England

We are seeking views on the proposed roles and responsibilities that government, individuals and organisations will have in helping to reduce waste.

Your views will help us finalise the first waste prevention programme for England. We plan to publish this by December 2013. The programme is required by the revised Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC). It will also take forward a commitment made in the government review of waste policy in England 2011.

The devolved administrations are developing their own waste prevention programmes which will be published separately.
