Redress scheme approval in competition cases: draft guidance
A consultation on CMA's draft guidance on our power to approve voluntary redress schemes in cases where competition law has been infringed.
Last fetched 03 May 2026 · gov.uk
Detail
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 is expected to come into force in October 2015.
We’re seeking views on draft guidance on our new powers to make it easier for consumers and businesses to gain access to redress for harm caused by infringements of competition law.
The powers (should they come into force) will also allow parties who have breached competition law to submit a voluntary redress scheme to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for approval.
This consultation will be of interest to:
- anyone who has an interest in competition law investigations
- consumers
- businesses and their legal advisors
