Pedlars (Street Trading Regulations) Bill
A Bill to confer further powers on local authorities for the regulation of street trading by pedlars; and for connected purposes
The Bill does not outlaw peddling but would confer further powers on local authorities in England and Wales to enable them to regulate street trading by pedlars.
It would transfer the regulation of pedlars from the police to local authority officers, who would be able to take action against unlawful pedlars and to seize goods.
Pedlars who sell their goods 'door to door' outside town centres would still be able to operate.
