Public Bodies (Disposal of Assets) Bill

A Bill to make provision to require certain public bodies to dispose of unused or under-used assets by public auctions; and for connected purposes.

The Bill would require central government Departments, executive agencies, non-Departmental public bodies, NHS bodies and public corporations to make an annual declaration of any of their tangible fixed assets that were unused on 1 January each year and the length of time those assets had been out of use. They would then be required to offer for sale at public auction any tangible fixed assets that had been out of use for more than one year.
