Hydrofluorocarbons Limitation Bill
A Bill to make provision for limiting the use of hydrofluorocarbons in certain premises; and for connected purposes.
The Bill would require the Secretary of State, having consulted 'such persons as he considers appropriate' to make regulations:
- to phase out the use of hydrofluorocarbons in equipment used in large shops within five years of the Bill becoming an Act
- to specify a date by which the use of equipment using hydrofluorocarbons in other commercial premises must be ended.
The Bill uses the definition of a 'large shop' contained in schedule 1 of the Sunday Trading Act 1994, which is a shop with a floor area exceeding 280 square metres.
