To make further provision for the promotion of microgeneration and energy efficiency; and for connected purposes
<p>The Bill would make a range of provisions relating to microgeneration and local energy supply. In particular it would: </p><ul><li>require the Secretary of State to review the effects of the microgeneration strategy provided for under the Energy Act 2004 and of development orders related to microgeneration equipment on agricultural land made under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 </li><li>require the Chancellor of the Exchequer to publish a fiscal strategy to promote energy efficiency and microgeneration and to take reasonable steps to implement it <br>require estate agents to include the energy rating of properties in marketing material about the properties and</li><li>require banks or building societies to lend money at reasonable rates of interest for the installation of microgeneration systems in domestic properties </li><li>amend the Electricity Act 1989 and the Gas Act 1986 to require the Secretary of State and the energy suppliers to encourage reduction in household energy consumption and to promote local power generation </li><li>amend the licensing provisions of the Electricity Act 1989 to exempt small suppliers who use local distribution networks to supply domestic premises. <br></li></ul>
